I know this is a busy time of year, have you ever thought you did something and then later you realized you didn't? Like 24 hours later? Several times today I checked my Blog Dashboard for comments to publish, and there were not any. Hmm, now this was odd No one likes my Give Away~ So I just sat down here to write up our Day 6 Shop Hop Special and Day 5 wasn't here! Long Before I was a Member at Make Mine Pink I participated in their Annual Shop Hops. They were always so much Fun searching from the participating Shops for the beloved 'Shopping Bag' that says 'You Found It'! It was always a great opportunity for me to see what was happening in my favorite Make Mine Pink Boutique. Each Boutique always had something fun going on during this time as well. This is my 4th year as a Member of Make Mine Pink, and I haven't missed a Shop Hop yet!

Even as a participant, this year I have 2 Boutiques participating, I still Love it! I can't look for the 'Shopping Bag' any longer and have it accumulate into a Wonderful Prize, but I get to plan special events for my Customers during the Event and that I Love to do too!! Thankful for a "Ghastlie" Win

Good Morning Friends~ How are your Preparations coming along for Thanksgiving Day? Are you serving or being served? Traveling? Are you a Parade Lover? I am Big Time!! I am serving this year, no surprise though I Love having Family and Friends over for any occasion even if it's just for a cup of Coffee. I can't think of any one thing that I am Thank~full for this year, because everyday I am Thank~full for so many people and things in my life!! Remember our Wonderful "Ghastlie" Blog Hop? I have to share this wonderful zippered bag I won from Dawn over at Quilting by Dawn. Isn't it the cutest? Dawn even attached a Surprise to the Bag, a pair of Pink Handle Scissors! All wrapped up in a Pink/White Check Fat Quarter and tied up with Dark Pink Lace~ Too Cute!

When I saw those Scissors I knew exactly what I use it for, my Sewing and Crocheting supplies I keep in my Car! Whenever we head out out on a Adventure(we travel a lot) I am always taking a long a Sewing or Crocheting project or two to work on. Until I won this precious Bag I had a small bag for each set of Supplies, now I am able to fit the contents of both into this one and it fits perfectly in my Glove Compartment!! Thank~You Dawn I am sew Thank~full I was the winner of your Zippered Bag!!

Impressed by a Fancy Flea~

Oh Yes I was! We headed over this morning to the Historic Downtown of Lakeland, Florida for the Fall market of "The Fancy Flea". A Flea Market like no other. It was the prettiest Flea Market I have ever been to. The Historic District was clean, fresh and just buzzing with happy Shoppers, friends chatting and laughing, in amongst a street lined with beautiful tented booths just filled with Beautiful Merchandise! It was a delight not to see junk, and nothing made in China! There was an eclectic variety of re~furbished Antique Furniture such as that from Debbie Mangual, owner of The Vintage Soul Store in St Cloud, Florida.

Loved these Chairs, and the Pillows on them too!(Almost came home with me)
Debbie also had Gorgeous Handmade Aprons, Totes, Pillows with soft Ruffles, and quite an Assortment of Home Decor. I definitely will be visiting her in St Cloud!! and also Lisa Bertosa, Owner of House of Envy, in St. Cloud too!
Lisa's booth was covered with a ruffled Burlap roof that she made! I'm envious! Lisa's booth was also filled with Treasures that were finding new homes at a pretty steady pace. Like the Stockings on the Fence Post below,
Next to Lisa was the lovely Cindy Childers, Owner of Glitz & Glam Emporium. Lucky Cindy didn't have to travel to far, her Store is right there in Lakeland!! I also had the pleasure of meeting Kim Ryan, Owner & Designer of Paris Rags. Look at her happy, beautiful smile,
and I caught her off guard!
I wanted one of everything in her Boutique, just Beautiful Romantic Clothing!!

I also met and chatted with Robyn Story of Robyn Story Designs here in Tampa.
Robyn had a Beautiful assortment of Christmas DIY Items, Printed Burlap for making your own Pillows, Totes, Curtains, and Quarts and Quarts of Ann Sloan Chalk Paint and Waxes. Which I did grab some for a Chair I want to redo in my Dining Room.

Michelle Duke(the Duchess) came up from Plantation, Florida. Michelle also was busy selling Period Furniture and some of her Beautiful Accessories!! I loved this long Jacket she was wearing,
the gentleman in the Burgundy shirt is Mr Coeur d'Alene. He's not much of a shopper but likes to share in some my adventures. Today he made several runs back to the car, lucky me!!

I have to give a Big Thanks to Debi Wilhoite from Cameo Kids Boutique. I have known Debi since she first joined Make Mine Pink a couple years ago. Debi mentioned The Fancy Flea event last Spring after she attended. I knew it was one event I didn't want to miss when it came around again this Fall. Plus, I finally got to meet Debi!!!

Little Twinkle Star's "Ghastlie" Soiree Day 10

Once upon a time, Mimmie Ghastlie with the Ghastlie Flu, had a Granddaughter born, she was the Brightest Twinkling Star in all the Land. With her big bright Eyes and her smile so Sugary Sweet, Yes she was her Mimmie Ghastlies Special little Treat!! Surely a Cure for the Ghastlie Flu would be no fete!
As little Ghastlie Twinkle Star was introduced to Fashion and Style, we soon learned a silly Pink Hat brought on a Pirate Face, Oh No! we couldn't have that! Hmmm, maybe I should have embellished it with a Ghastlie Bat!
Ghastlie Little Twinkle Star found Jewels, "Oh yes, Now these I like", and her Ghastlie little instincts knew just how to wear her New Found Treasures. But to her surprise there was no cure here for Mimmie Ghastlie to measure.
One day arrived a Invitation for our Ghastlie Little Twinkle Star, A Halloween Soiree at my Gymboree! "Oh Yes" she replied, "I will contact my Mimmie Ghastlie to make the very Best"!
The Skype did ring one Ghastlie Morn, It was Little Twinkle Star.... "Mimmie, I think I finally have a cure for your Ghastlie Flu(fabric)! I need a Ghastlie Dress with Pink and Frills, a Scarf, and a Treat Bag too!" "But please no Hats, no Pants, or Shoes!".
With several colorful Ghastlie Fabric designs, A Ghastlie Cure Creation was born. A Apron Dress with Pink Ric Rac Flowers, a big Pink Bow and Frills, A Scarf with some Orange Scalloped Vintage trim, a Petite Treat Bag with Lace.
Surely this would bring a Smile to Little Twinkle Stars face! The Creation was shipped to far away Lands, to one called China and into Little Twinkle Stars hands.
And such a Cure was found for Mimmie Ghastlie's Flu, as she saw such a Smile on Little Twinkle Stars Face! No Pirate frowns, or little Boo Hoos!
With Mom by her side, Little Twinkle Star enjoyed her first Halloween Gymboree Soiree.
This Ghastlie Creation gave her the freedom to Twirl and Tumble about!

Now Surely you must know, Little Twinkle Stars Smile is my Prize for the day.

Finally home with a car full of apples, pumpkins, smiley faces and our antique stash of a pink pedestal dish, antique picture frames and brass candlesticks;

Home is where your soul rests and your spirit restores on

Overstuffed bed pillows, vintage chenille bedspreads and comforting multi-colored quilts;
Magazines; a good book and a bone china English floral dish filled with chocolates on your bed side table;
Everyone now off to dreamland after enjoying all the comforts of home and looking forward to a new day tomorrow.

Now, to share another little Home of Comfort for a Little Seaside Fairy, this is my Little Fairy House for a Swap I am participating in at the "Once Upon a Dream" Art Event in Asheville, NC next week. We had such a variety of Swaps to choose from, I think their were 8 or 9 total. I chose 3. I hope tomorrow night to show you the results of another Swap I am in.

Shells that we collected here on our Beach, I Glittered then glued them on to this little house with all kinds of Baubles, Flowers, Tulle, Sea Glass, Lace, Pearls, Twinkle Ribbon, etc. I really had a great time putting this all together. I think a little Little Fairy would like to live here, don't you?

Paula's Ooey Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake

This is a all time Family & Friends Favorite at out House during the Fall. From the Queen of Butter Paula Deen!! Actually anywhere I go in the Fall Months where I need to bring a Dish, it's been requested I bring this Cake. I hope you Love it as Much as we do, it's really easy, peasy!!

Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake from Paula Deen

6-8 Servings
Prep Time: 30 Minutes
Cook Time: 45 ~ 50 Minutes

Ingredients

Cake:
1 18 1/4 ounce package Yellow Cake Mix
1 Egg
8 Tablespoons Melted Butter

Filling:
1 15 ounce Can of Pumpkin
1 8 ounce package Softened Cream Cheese
8 Tablespoons Melted Butter
3 Eggs
1 Teaspoons Vanilla
1 16 ounce Box of Powered Sugar
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Nutmeg

Directions

Preheat Oven to 350*
To make Cake, Combine all of the Ingredients and Mix Well. Pat the Mixture into a lightly greased 13 x 9 inch Baking Pan.

Prepare Filling:
In a large Bowl, beat the Cream Cheese and Pumpkin until Smooth. Add the Eggs, Vanilla, and Butter and Beat together. Add the Powdered Sugar, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Mix well.
Spread Pumpkin Mixture over Cake Batter and Bake 40 ~50 Minutes. Make sure not to Over Bake as the center should be a little Gooey.

Serve with Fresh Whipped Cream & Enjoy!

What does a romantic retreat mean to you? A romantic retreat is any personal place that evokes emotions of romance and can be a different experience from one person to another.

Is it a simple Summer picnic on the grounds of an arboretum surrounded by cascading rose bushes? The heirloom picnic basket set down on the cherished quilt is filled with delectable accoutrements to be enjoyed on colorful Nippon China plates as we sip refreshment out of odd and end champagne glasses. Do we need to travel abroad to find a romantic retreat? It is no further than our own cozy cottage; be it near the sea shore, a cabin by the lake or up in the mountains. It is home on a rainy day cozy amongst our overstuffed chairs, crisp white lace curtains billowing in the breeze, needlepoint and embroidered pillows beckoning us to curl up and stay a while. It is up in our attics with Grandma's collections spilling out of the boxes; old frames, post cards, chiffon dresses; millinery and elegant gloves of days gone by.

Hello Spring. It's been a long time!

I have longed to throw open my doors & feel your light warm breeze upon my skin, to open my eyes and see a fresh magnificent palette of inspiration for myself and my home.

Just what will I see today? White Daisies or a field of Yellow Tulips against a Blue Sky for the tablecloth I would like to drape over my table.

A field of Lavender with their hues of Purple, or Pink & Red Rosebuds in their foliage so lush against White Clouds. Like the Hankies I lay over the Curtain Rods in the Guest Bath.

Bluebells or White Lily of the Valley after your Spring Rain with the hint of a sparkle in the water droplets as the bright sun dances off of them, possibly a new Duvet Cover for the Celebration of welcoming you.

Will it be a the sea of color from the Wildflowers growing up the hill down the old country road, possibly a new Needlepoint, Wall Hanging, or Pillow to enlighten a room.

Maybe the gentle Baby's Breath that will fill my planters or the free flowing Flowered Branches of the Porch side tree, like the french knots in a new embroidered Dresser Scarf or crocheted Doilies for my tabletops.

Just what will you create in my Interior Design Dreams of today?

Meet my New Friends! My Studio was clearly needing a touch of Spring and so did I.

I think everyone knows I am not by any means a lover of Birds. Remember 2 Springs ago when Miss Candy Cardinal moved into the Artificial Fig Tree outside my Office door? Just watching her raise her little tweeps, teaching them to fly......kind of left a imprint on my heart. Since then I have started to notice Birds, really notice the Cute Ones!!It was time I guess when I ran across these empty wreaths in a Boutique last Summer in Seattle. I brought them home and they sat on the shelf until the right time.I decided one morning to freshen up some of my Millinery Flowers for a couple of Easter Projects, I opened the Cabinet...........here it was, the 'right' time when my eyes hit the box of the petite flowers first. Like a little bird learning to fly I was all a flutter in the Studio gathering elements for these little Wreaths. Millinery Flowers, Pearls, Lace, are just my faves to work with. But I needed more than a standard decorated little wreath.........they needed a purpose, something special..............they needed Cute Little Birds~There are more to come, and they can all be found at our Little Sister Boutique, Sweet Twinkle Stars & Sugar Plum Creations. MMP Ornament Swap

One thing that is so much fun about a swap, other than creating something Special for the recipient, is the element of Surprise of what is coming to you in return!! And I Love Surprises, especially when I know they are coming from a fellow Crafter or Artist. This year in the Make Mine Pink Ornament Swap I had the pleasure of Swapping with Brenda from The Wilted Magnolia and Shannon from Shabby Shan's Cottage.

The first Ornament I received was from Shannon. This Darling Pink & White Birdhouse with Crystals and a Sugary Roof. I Love Birdhouses, and Shannon knows that too as I have bought them from her before. Shannon's husband makes them!! And he makes them nice too. Then they are passed over to Shannon for the appropriate Creative touch. Mine will look Gorgeous on my Sugary Pink Tree!! Next I received my Ornament from Brenda, I love meeting New Blogging friends!! I received one of Brenda's Gorgeous Boudoir Balls!! This Ornament is covered with fabric of Roses then topped off with bits of Pink Chiffon, the top is embellished with a Pink Fabric Flower, Ribbons, White Venice Lace's and it has the nicest Scent to it too!! It's home is also on the Pink Sugary Tree!!I am so blessed to have these two New Ornaments on my Tree, and so Thank~full for the Ladies who made them for me!! Thank~You so much Brenda & Shannon for the New memories on my tree. I hope you both have a Wonderful Holiday too!!

"Fall Findings" Sorority Swap

Reveal Day!! It's Finally here!! My Sorority Sister Swap Partner is Dee Dee Johnson from DeeDees Craftspot. Ooooh and did I receive a charming decorated Cigar Box, just full of useful and fun goodies.
As you can see below, Lace wrapped in Curlers, what a neet idea, Acorn bells, Beaded Rings, Fall Ribbons, Spooky Halloween Tags, A lovely Bar of Olive Oil Soap, Glittered Pumpkin, a very nice thick Heart shaped Hot Pad, Sheet Music, a Set of Orange Votives, I used one last night in my studio and it smelled sooo good. A Darling Soddered Charm with the Word "Friend" inside, that will go in a special place. Thank~You so much Dee Dee for putting this Cherished Box together for me!! I had so much fun finding things for you, and I can tell you had just as much fun!!

Paper Dreams

Dear Friends,

I have been so busy, and have clearly neglected my blog in the past couple weeks. So, I thought I would post something fun that happened during the Summer.

It was a very hot summer here in MI, and their were times in the morning I just wasn't too excited with the heat and all, to do my normal primping routine. This day was one of them~

I was working steadily along in my Studio when the Dogs started Barking, I could see from my window nothing was happening at the back of the house, so I ventured to the front.

Surprise, Surprise to find this very Hansom German Gentleman at my front door. It was none other than Andreas, President of Paper Dreams Factory. Andreas and his Daughter from Germany were touring the United States in their Custom Made Motor Home/Office. They were making stops and meeting all their Customers, and showing the New Line of Foils and Dresdens. Andreas was also having his customers sign the Outside of the Vehicle. He thinks it will be full by the time he returns to Rhode Island where their Corporate office is.

It was such a treat Andreas to meet you and your lovely Daughter!!

"Last Rose of Summer"

As fall approaches, I love to take my mug of morning coffee outdoors and walk along the rose bushes. The same bushes that offered an abundance of roses during the summer are starting to show a little thinning, each needing their winter’s rest. The enchanting blooms beg the question “Will these be the last roses of summer?” It is no wonder roses are the favorite flowers of so many people, me included. Their delicate petals are stronger than they appear against the wind and sun, their scent intoxicating. Their beauty is unquestionable. Some need very little attention and yet grab all of our attention. We seem to have a need to fill our homes with roses. Hand- painted roses pop up in pieces of furniture, framed as wall art, and even on our favorite wine goblets. We tuck antique tea cups featuring roses into unto what-not shelves. China cabinets are filled with our wedding sets, mine in blue roses, my sisters’ in pink roses. Curtains over our kitchen sinks have a delicate rose edging. Roses are woven into the damask linens we use to each day as we enjoy meals with our loved ones. A few roses pillows tucked here and there give a quick smile as we go about our fall nesting. A flickering candle fills the air with rose scents, and beautiful rose-shape soaps welcome out guests. Teas in rose flavors call us to sit by the fireplace and relax. Chandeliers

Last week while visiting my Favorite Blogs, I came across Chandy Love, a Blogpost from Tales from an OC Cottage, Chandeliers! I Love Chandeliers but I Love light, and lots of it! While reading the post it made me think of my own Great Chandeliers that I have acquired from the Auctions we have attended over the years. OC Cottage emailed me and suggested I do a Blog post on mine and link up to Cindy at My Romantic Home for her Show & Tell Friday.

So here I am my first post linking up to My Romantic Home to Share.

We acquired this Vintage Chandelier from a Auction in Florida. It was meant to hang in our Foyer in our MI Home. Well it made it up here but still not yet in the Foyer, and this was several years ago!

It is currently hanging in our Basement Family Room just tucked in a corner for safe keeping. It has over 500 intact Prisms. My winning Bid was $200. Someday it will hang in my Foyer, but probably of my next home(as we are looking).

The same Night, I also won this Chandelier(Image #10). Sorry to have to link, but the main image is on another PC. I Love the simple ornateness of this Chandelier, it hangs, yes after 3 years it was hung in the Breakfast Nook of our Fla Home. Winning Bid $20.

"Summer Porch" Shopping Event at Make Mine Pink

I can’t think of anything more inviting than a summer porch. Starting your day with a cup of tea in a favorite antique tea cup or watching a sunset from a vintage wicker rocker, filled with plump cushions, inspired by days gone by.

A summer porch can be a place of solace, when you need a moment to unwind, or a place of shelter during a warm summer rain.

A welcoming porch creates a friendly entryway to your home. And with the right accessories, can become an extension of your home.

Our summer porch was always filled with pots and planters of brightly colored geraniums. It didn’t feel like summer without these welcoming blooms.

For entertaining guests, vintage chairs, painted in blues and whites, no two alike, made comfortable with pretty floral pillows propped against their backs. An ornate table, painted white and adorned with layers of beautiful white linens. A welcoming site for all that come to visit.

For cozy evenings, cut glass cups, glow with the soft flicker of a candle within. An old mason jar, one saved from grandmother’s canning cellar, is filled with fresh cut daisies. A quilting project, tucked into a favorite basket, ready to be worked on at a moments notice.

In our Family we have always enjoyed our Porches and backyard Decks. Nothing just beats eating a Al Fresco meal with a good bottle of Wine, and serene beautiful scenery.

A Fresh Breath....

I have been feverioushly working on getting things ready for a massive Garage Sale. We have a beautifully finished basement, but you wouldn't know it from the boxes, and bags just piled on the floor and on the Tables, both 8 foot long dining Table Sets. I could just open my own store right out of my basement. I wonder if my little historic city here on the Lake would permit me to do that? Just kidding friends I don't need another business venture at this stage of my Life.
I took a break from all of this activity once this past week~end to find my daughter had sent me this picture of my sweet little Granddaughter, Johanna.
Such perfect timing for the day, as I work to get rid of all this stuff. A wonderful reminder that our efforts to unload will bring us someday to being closer to where we want to spend the rest of our lives. Playing, enjoying, and spending as mush time as we can with our Grandchildren. That is our New Venture we have decided for us. We may not settle in China, but probably in some hand picked Grandma house with a Big Porch, and a Big Yard on the West Coast. Maybe even in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.......

Catching up with 'Mimmie'

Oh Dear Sweet Friends, I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth, just dropped into a whole new realm of Life ~ Grandmotherhood, is that even a word?, or for me it would be Mimmiehood. That's a new word created by moi. Yes, dainty little Miss Johanna Grace came into our lives on May 14th. Just as precious as a little girl can be, and so is her Mother my daughter Lauren. I have been busy keeping up with her, crocheting, and creating in down time. Even had a chance to visit a couple Antique Stores here in Shelton WA.
So there are some New goodies in the Boutique.
And a new favorite Yarn Shop, which just happens to be right on my path to visit with Johanna. Fancy Image Yarns, www.fancyimageyarns.com, is a shop full of hand dyed Merino's and Mohair's. Myra's eye for color is just outstanding with yummy summer, and rich fall hues. This shop is a must have for the Fiber Artist.

Today we took Johanna to the Olympia Farmer's Market. I just Love her New Copli Stroller! Her Blanket here was made by Melissa Danner of 'My Favorite Things', melissadanner.typepad.com Thank~You Melissa!!

When I think of Southern Cooks~ I think Paula Deen. I have eaten at her lovely Restaurant, The Lady and Sons, on several occasions and the faire was Oh so yummy!! This trip I visited her Home Store, I have to say I really like the quality and design of her products. Her prices were very reasonable too!! So I did find a couple goodies there just for you!! Our wonderful 'Petticoats & Parasols' kicked off Thursday evening with a Evening of Sweet Treats, including our Keynote Speaker, Jo Packman, of 'Where Women Create'.
Rosalyn~Sue Smith of lilbirdstudios.typepad.com treated us to the most divine 'Southern Sugar Sweet Bar. Rosalyn~Sue designed and constructed our Sweet Bar, isn't it just adorable!! Then she filled it with Sweet Peach and Vanilla Gumballs, Taffys, and Rock Candy Sugar Sticks. The second portion of the Sweet Bar were all Home Made Southern Desserts, just divine and just the right size sweet portion. Thank~You so much Rosalyn for treating us to such a wonderful introduction to Southern Sweets!!!
And the Cocktail of the Evening was a Sweet Peach Martini, and ooooohhhh so delish!
Now, with all this Sweetness all around me I had to share some with you.

So, with Glittering Magnolia's in hand, and my Car with a empty Trailer attached I say we hit the road!

Day 1, we are off from MI, across the Ohio Turnpike towards West Virgina. The Ohio Turnpike has the nicest Service Centers. They are a Tourist Info Ctr, Restaurants, Restrooms all rolled into one. Very clean and nicely spaced along the Turnpike. My first Service Center stop for a Iced Coffee Break from Gloria Beans. I pull in to my parking spot, and in my peripheral vision I see a license plate that says 'Gday MB'. I only know one MB, so I just had to snap this! But tonite as loading 'I notice it says 'Gday M8'. Oh well, the wonderful neat thoughts were there at first sight and still are.

May Day Basket Swap

Well I did it again, I entered another Swap. Cathy from Treasured Heirlooms really gave me the bug when I entered her 'Amour Valentines' Swap back in February.
This time a May Day Basket Swap hosted by Kari from www.artsymama.blogspot.com Melissa Danner from 'My Favorite Things' is my Swap Partner. Melissa is a Sewer, embroiderer, so this my friends was right up my alley. It was so much Creating her Basket and digging through my own collection of Vintage Fabric & Laces. So I thought I would share this with you.

This Basket I found was just perfect, in Melissa's colors, I added Millinery flowers over the pre~printed flowers on the Basket. Happily I was able to pack all that I wanted to give her.
I made the little Bird's Nest Wreath in the lower left. With Vintage Millinery, ribbons, a little silver heart dangles from the bow at the top and of course Mama Bird is wearing her crown. I may even make a few more for my Boutique.

Then I filled it with Vintage Fabrics, Laces, trims rolled onto Vintage wooden Spools, A Lace covered May Day Flower Jar filled with flowers, A Organza Bag filled with Satin Roses, Butterflies, Sequin Strawberries, La Patisserie Towel Dessert, etc. The last view shows more of the Basket with the contents spread out.

I hope you all enjoyed this as I enjoyed sharing it with you!!

that I last played with Paper Dolls. Then I just moved right on into the world of Barbie. This week I am attending the Southern Art Event "Petticoats & Parasols" hosted by Jennifer Hayslip down in Savannah, GA. We all know how much I Love the Southern Hospitality. One of the fun things we are having is a "Paper Doll" Swap. We had to make 6, so I thought before I package them up I would share my Sweet Creations with you. When I return I will introduce you to all of the Beautiful Southern Belles that have come home to live with me.

Putting Our Best Foot Forward

It wasn't long after I opened my On~Line Boutique and Website with Make Mine Pink.com, when I saw a Thread in the Forum 'Start~Up Nation 100's Best....' Hmmm. I was no Tech Savvy Lady but I figured what the heck, I can compete. I went to the Start ~ Up Nation website, and filled out the application for the competition and asked my Colleagues, Friends and Family to vote for me daily.
Well I didn't win that time, but it sure was fun to watch the meter grow on a daily basis. That was last Year.

This January 2010, I received a email from Lauren Smith, Producer, here in Michigan for Detroit Public TV. The Sloan Bros, Rich and Jeff, along with Detroit Public TV were going to do a TV show based on how to Start ~ Up your Own Business. Ok.....and they were asking me to be apart of it. Hmmm, what was this all about, Spam, Joke etc. Nope, I called Lauren and it was for real. My application just from that one time entry gave them enough info to call upon little ole me. She wanted to come out to my Store with her Crew and Interview me. So we husseled to build a mini version of Coeur d'Alene, at the back of our Ref~Fel Couture Boutique.

We really had so much fun the day they came out. Fred, who did the filming and Tom who did the sound were really just the sweetest and so Patient. Lauren, was a doll coaching me with particular words I could add to my sentences. Overall it was a Great Fun Experience.

Now these Photos are Blurry, because we forgot to grab our Camera on the way out the door. So Nick pulled out the ole Cell for these pics.

After Part One was finished at our Store, Part Two was to take place the following week down at the TV Station.

We met the Sloan Bros. and other Entrepreneurs as well. People who came in to see the taping and of course a extended crew putting this Production into Play. Another Fun filled 5 hour day in TV Land.

Now even though I may end up on the Editing Room Floor, this Show will Air in Michigan tomorrow night March 16, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Check your local Michigan listings for the station in your area. OR, you can go to www.dptv.org to find out.

If you live outside of MI, check their website for air information on another stream for tomorrow evenings debut. In June this Show will go National and will be available for viewing in your area.

You may just even see another Entrepreneur you know on the show.

"Linens & Lace" Shopping Event

This Friday we are celebrating one of my all time favorite Themed Shopping Events ~ "Linens & Lace"! Oh the Memories I have of growing up surrounded by Gorgeous French Linens and Lace at my Mimmie's home. I even used to take a Lace Tablecloth that wasn't being used and just wrap my self up in it as I was the 'French Princess Bride' running around in none other than lavender fields. Memories, Memories and more fun memories. My love for these beautiful pieces that I create with today has never changed. Please read on as Joyce shares her wonderful experience with all of us.

For as long as I can remember, linens and lace have always been a part of my life. They were not only present on every special occasion, but were used to add small touches to our everyday lives, making even the ordinary moments special and memorable.

The first time we are surrounded by linens and lace might be when loving hands tenderly wrap us up in an heirloom christening gown. Later, the corner of a simple lace handkerchief tucked in grandmothers pocket, then customary, now used as the lining of a straw tote or repurposed and stitched into a pillow, brings a touch of nostalgia.

I used to watch in fascination and excitement as my mother and grandmother brought out special tablecloths, some trimmed in lace, others with intricate layers of crochet stitches. I would excitedly wonder what special occasion we were celebrating. Often, it was a simple milestone, made extraordinary by the use of Mom’s special collection of linens. You could just feel the excitement in the air when these special linens came out of their safe storage.

I fondly remember a linen tablecloth with delicate lace around the edges, was lovingly spread on the table for holiday dinners. As a child, that might have been my very favorite. Or was it the beautiful crochet tablecloth with the impossibly intricate pattern of lace that seemed to tumble right off the end of my mothers' crochet hook? I had an appreciation for the beauty of my mother’s collection of linens and lace at a very early age. Today this very collection, added to one of my own, continues to add beauty and grace to my everyday life as well as to special occasions.

If you ask me, all of the best things in life come carefully wrapped in linens and lace and I never miss an opportunity to add to my own special collection.

First I sent Laurie a "Expressions in a Bottle" to let her know her box was arriving soon. I thought this would be a extra fun Surprise for Laurie!!!
Then I sent her the Box I made, Painted, Trimmed in Vintage Trims, and lined with Vintage Fabric. Yes, I even added Vintage Spools that I painted, tied bows, flowers onto and added as little feet. Then more fun, stuffing it with Lollia, French Soaps, a Silk Rose Brooch etc. It was so much fun!!

Roses and Pearls

When I think back to when I was a little girl, I remember the pretty off-white and pink pearls that my mother and grandmother wore for what I always assumed was "dress up." Whenever they went anywhere special, like church on Sunday morning, or celebrated a special event like a family birthday party, they slipped on their strings of pearls. Sometimes they let me try them on too, as long as I was careful. I remember admiring myself in the large mirrors on top of their dressers, framed by pearls and sitting on a rose covered bedspread.

"Expressions in a Bottle"

Good Morning Sweet Friends!
I finely stole some time to make what I have wanted to make what seems like Forever! I Love sending Cards with a little treasure enclosed. The concept of the message in the bottle has always intrigued me, something a little mysterious about it. And the bottle it floated around in, would always be a keepsake. So I created my own, "Expressions in a Bottle" and I Love the way they turned out! The sky is the limit when it comes to embellishing these special treasures. Then I was able to find a Custom made shipping box to send them off in. Instead of a little sand in the bottom, I put together a little mix together of Lavender & Lace Potpourri(My favorite from Patricia Rose Pot~Pourri), some little shells that I brought back from Cape Cod last Spring and some petite clippings of Vintage Lace. The first two sets I put in my B&M stores, they didn't last long and I even had a couple request for Custom Made Bottles for "Happy Birthday". Then I was able to make a batch up for my website. A Valentine’s Giveaway

I have a wonderful giveaway for you that is Valentine’s Day themed and even has a nod to home decor!

I came across a wonderful website this past week, Ashley Brooke Designs. I was thrilled when Ashley offered these very cool Valentine’s Day cards as a giveaway! I love these! I love the Valentine’s Day design and the hint of home decor with the desk set-up {don’t you wish this was your home office?}.

When I do eventually move, I’d like to get these cards. Since we are looking to down-size, it kind of plays on the “empty nest” theme.

"Amour Valentine Swap"

I am really all jazzed up about 2010 and this fresh New decade we are in, how about you??
To start things off for me I entered a "Amour Valentine Swap" that Cathy from Treasured-heirlooms and Elegance & Whimsy is hosting. If you are interested, please visit Cathy's blog at www.treasured-heirlooms.blogspot.com

Here's how the swap will work. Easy, Peezy, Fun

1. Grab the "Amour Valentine Swap" image and place it on your blog sidebar linking it back to my blog (treasured-heirlooms.blogspot.com).

2. Post on your blog about the swap and encourage friends to join in.

3. If you would like to participate, email me at this email address: atreasuredheirloom@comcast.net ~
Subject line: Valentine Swap ~ with the following information.

a. Your name and home address
b. Your Email address (where I can contact you with your swap partner)
c. Your blog URL
d. Your choice of what color you would like your "Amour" swap box.
e. Choose one of the following:
*Shades of Pink
*Shades of Red
*Pastels
*Shades of White
*Any color is fine

4. Would you mind shipping outside of U.S. if necessary?

HERE ARE THE SWAP RULES:

1. You will need to purchase a LARGE (appx. 8"wx6"h±), heart-shaped, cardboard box from your local craft store (Michaels, A.C. Moore, Hobby Lobby.) I heard from Cathy today(01~02~2010) and a Round or Square box with these dimensions would be OK too.

2. Be sure your box has plenty of room to fill up with "Love Treasures".

3. Email and introduce yourself to your blog partner.

4. Create your "Amour box" with your imagination and your own particular style. It doesn't necessarily have to be a Valentine theme, but it has to be pretty and it has to be made with the color choice of your partner.

5. GENEROUSLY fill your "Amour Box" with lots of treasures from your heart. Most of you have participated in many swaps over the years so you already know what to put in the box. If this is your first time, email me for suggestions on filling up your "Amour Box". If you have something that doesn't fit in the box, wrap it pretty and send it along with your package.

6. Beautifully wrap your creation before packing so your Partner will be able to take lots of pretty photos once she opens the outside box.

7. Take lots and lots of photos for our reveal day, Sunday, February 14th.

8. You have three weeks to create and mail your "Amour" box. Make sure your package arrives to your swap partner NO LATER THAN, February 5th so she can enjoy it for awhile before Valentine's Day arrives.

On Sunday, February 14th, Valentine's Day, post all your photos and the name of your swap partner.
